Here are the most anticipated earnings releases for the week ahead:

• Third-quarter earnings season begins this week, with several large banks reporting. $JPMorgan Chase & Co(JPM.US)$, $Morgan Stanley(MS.US)$, $Goldman Sachs Group(GS.US)$, $Wells Fargo & Co(WFC.US)$, $Bank of America Corporation(BAC.US)$ are among banks slated to release their latest quarterly figures this week.
• The IPO market is still partying. Lots of IPOs are hitting the market in the week ahead.

Here’s a list of economic events for the week ahead:

Economic data out this week include a pair of inflation measures. On Tuesday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports the Consumer Price Index for September. Excluding volatile food and energy components, it’s expected to have jumped 1.8%, similar to August’s rise. The core Producer Price Index for September, out Wednesday, is predicted to have risen 0.2%, after climbing 0.4% in August.

Other releases include the University of Michigan’s Consumer Sentiment Index for October and the Census Bureau’s retail-sales data for September, both on Friday.
